SDC 281 Amazing Backgrounds

Now THIS is my challenge! I love creating backgrounds. It is almost an addiction, so this was a fun challenge to work on. I have had this rainbow background paper for quite sometime waiting for just the right project, and this was it! I used it to create a rainbow pocket letter and I can't wait to surprise its recipient!

In addition to a new challenge, this month we had another AMAZING release and I fell in love with Whookie, so he took center stage for this pocket letter.  I used more rainbow background papers to create his different looks. I also used one of our newest sentiments. I thought it was fitting.

I also played with our television stamp and some older sentiments. Check it out! Whookie is under cover with his mustashio! (a brad I was gifted)Isn't he handsome? And how adorable are his toes? Did you spot the tiny whookie? He is stamped all over the background of a few of the cards.

And, of course, no pocket letter is complete without some goodies. Brads, Washi and Twine! Those letters are from our Alphabet backround stamp.  Block stamped and each letter cut out to create the words of my choice. Oh, and of course, a sparkly sentiment for the bling!

I hope this inspires you to create an amazing background for our challenge this week! Backgrounds are so fun to create using just about anything in your stash! Be sure to check out the rest of the design team creations and enter for your chance to win stamps! Happy creating!

Word Up Weekend!

So, as most of you know, we just had another release over at Stampotique. This week, for Word Up Weekend I used ""Wonky Town" to create a mail art envelope.

I thought that this sentiment, "shut the front door" was doubly amusing when paired with the houses. I pieced the houses with various dylusions ink papers to create a more dimensional look. I also decided to use one of the houses for the shipping label. Same with the sentiment.

I can't wait to send this off to its new owner, but they have to wait just a bit longer.

I hope this inspires you! Be sure to hop over to our Facebook page to check out more word up weekend posts! And, of course, our shop is loaded with sentiments! Have a great weekend!

Fantastic Fabric ATCs

This month for the ATC swap over at Stampotique we tried to come up with something a little bit different. So, I asked my husband to give me ideas. He said, "What about fabric?" Still high off my banner for the blog hop I said, "Yes! That is perfect!" So back to my scrap fabric stash I went.

I recently ordered a few new stamps from Stampotique and this puppy was needing to be on this ATC....and...given his position....I thought the, "pull my finger" stamp was just about perfect.

The only paper used on this ATC was for the back (stampted ATC back) and the dog and sentiment. The rest is fabric, interfacing, thread and twine. Oh, and a bit of acrylic paint and watercolor. I really hope that my partners enjoy these.
Additionally, it is Word Up Weekend once again over at Stampotique so..."Pull My Finger"....::snicker:: These ATCs were a blast to make so maybe in the future I will create more. Fabric is just as fun as paper, and we ALL know how I feel about paper!
Happy weekend, happy sentiments and...you know...if you gotta....pull my finger!

June Release and Word Up Weekend

I am back and it is not only Word Up Weekend but we just had another wonderful release at Stampotique! Loads of new, fabulous stamps to be had, but 2 of my favorites are these two feathers.

I also used an older sentiment for my words this weekend. They belong with these feathers, wouldn't you say? I used ink sprays and gelatos for the background here and used gelatos to make the feathers and words pop a bit with just a sprinkling of bling. This card is all wrapped up in whimsy.

Be sure to pop over to the Stampotique website and check out all of our latest images! Happy weekend!

Word Up Weekend Ya'LL!!

Word up weekend time once again and I am here with a more masculine card and colors way out of my comfort zone but in the end I sure loved it.

I really love this image from Daniel Torrente (Cranium). I thought this sentiment went perfectly. For the background I used another image from Stampotique (Smile) and only stamped his head over and over to make it look like he had voices in is head as well as Bla Bla sentiment. All of these stamps are from Stampotique. I love how this card ended up coming together in the end.

Ingredients:

Cranium (stampotique)
Quotes #1 (Stampotique)
Smile (Stampotique)
Bla Bla Bla (Stampotique)
Memento Ink
Ranger Archival Black Ink

SDC #270 Text Background

So, as if Stampotique didn't already have a ton of good sentiments and words, they now have this sweet script stamp and I thought it was perfect for this week's challenge theme which just happens to be Text Background!

I know you have seen all of our wonderful new releases for March. This uses two of our newbies. I decided to go with mail art because it just made sense to me with the text background.

I stamped Elaine  onto some label  paper that you would normally put through your printer and heat set the ink (colorbox works awesome for this). I watercolored her and heat set her again and then she was ready to go.
As for the text, I realized I had some fucia embossing powder in my stash so the words got the embossing treatment. I don't think it will be a problem for the mail service....I hope....You can tell I was having some problems as, I didn't realize until too late, that the envelope was not 100% dry yet so the powder wanted to stick where it didn't belong. MY BAD....
I also created a label out of the label paper and distressed it a bit with some doodles and ink.  Viola! Text background! Boom! Be sure to check out our other DT members (left sidebar) because they are even more amazing!! Also be sure to link up your text background projects so we can see!!

Ingredients:

Elaine: Stampotique
Text Background: Stampotique
Hanging Hearts: Stampotique
Dylusions Sprays
Heidi Swapp Color Shine Spray

Word Up!!

I am here again to showcase one of our MANY, many sentiments from Stampotique. This week I jumped back in time just a bit to an older release and played with our Happy Camper sentiment along with our Tee Pee. It always makes me smile.

Of course, I used teals, pinks and purples since they are my favorite and they really feel whimsical. I decided to mirror stamp the tee pee and create a spinner card. Lately, I have really enjoyed creating interactive cards so this was just one more that I was inspired to make. I even broke out my cuddle bug and my spellbinders!

Be sure to check out our Facebook group for many more fun sentiment creations this weekend!!
