Word Up Weekend....Need Coffee!

Hello, hello! It is that time of week again....Word Up Weekend!

I bought some new inks...shocking, I know...but I really didn't have any distress inks and when I saw that ALL of Tim Holtz Distress Inks were 2 dollars off retail at Hobby Lobby, I had to have them. I will probably go get more. Hopefully this means that here in TN we will finally be getting the new Oxide Inks.

So, I used these 3 colors to create a fun splattered background and also stamped my sentiment AND my bird image onto what was left. Oh, and layered strips on top of vellum that I burned....with fire...
That's right...fire...and vellum....it makes a really cool texture and scorch look. I doodled on the strips of paper with my paint pen, which....you know...was fun. I chose this sentiment and bird because, well, they go amazingly well together, but additionally, my son knows and says often, "No coffee, no works!" and, I thought it applied here. HAHA
Be sure to head over to our Stampotique FB page and check out all of the other wonderful word up weekend projects! Who knows what may strike your fancy?

SDC 278 Use Some Kind Of Tape

Or, as I like to call them, WASHI TAPE WONDERS! Seriously. I have half a dresser drawer of washi tape that doesn't get used nearly enough anymore. SOOO, I am in love with this challenge. Did you know we also had a new release this month over at Stampotique? This has to be one of my FAVE releases. So many wonderful pieces of art to play with!

It is a bit more busy than anticipated but it is sooo sweet so how can you be upset, right? I used 4 different kinds of washi tape and then stamped our new hastag stamps over a stenciled background. This new little angel girl is also one of our latest release stamps. I colored her with soft colored pencils. Wanted it to be soft and sweet, just like the image.
I really hope the recipient of this envelope is happy. It is to make her happy. I love having a few pen pals now. Pen pals are awesome! Annnnnd having a pen pal gives you a reason to create MAIL ART!!! See how that works together? ;)

Please make sure to check out the other design team members for their wonderful creations and break out some Washi tape of your own!! We want to see how creative you can be! Happy taping!

Fantastic Fabric ATCs

This month for the ATC swap over at Stampotique we tried to come up with something a little bit different. So, I asked my husband to give me ideas. He said, "What about fabric?" Still high off my banner for the blog hop I said, "Yes! That is perfect!" So back to my scrap fabric stash I went.

I recently ordered a few new stamps from Stampotique and this puppy was needing to be on this ATC....and...given his position....I thought the, "pull my finger" stamp was just about perfect.

The only paper used on this ATC was for the back (stampted ATC back) and the dog and sentiment. The rest is fabric, interfacing, thread and twine. Oh, and a bit of acrylic paint and watercolor. I really hope that my partners enjoy these.
Additionally, it is Word Up Weekend once again over at Stampotique so..."Pull My Finger"....::snicker:: These ATCs were a blast to make so maybe in the future I will create more. Fabric is just as fun as paper, and we ALL know how I feel about paper!
Happy weekend, happy sentiments and...you know...if you gotta....pull my finger!

Have fun!!!

Omgosh, so July is huge for Stampotique so I wanted to make something a bit more special for our big month. Not only are we having a massive release, we have new DT members! It is So huge! Guys, I am so sad to see some of my team mates go, but thankful to get to stick around and excited to get to design with new talent. <3

For my project, I chose to use one of our new images with a few of our older images. When I saw "Floating", I knew he had to be partnered with "Smile". Like brothers. SO sweet!! I also decided to try something I have never done before and make a mixed media banner with fabric scraps and paper. Oh, and a stick from my yard and some scrap lace.

This was SO fun to make and I really cannot wait to create another! It was so easy and so fun and kind of....I dunno, its just neat. I am thinking this may hang on our door for Valentine's Day next year! I think the sentiment goes well too and it is good for any time. I used my zig zag stitch to attach it to the banner.
And srsly, look at these lil guys!!! How sweet are they together! It was like they were meant to be! And the wings on the heart is kind of awesome, if I do say so myself! I colored the images lightly with Copics, but just enough to make them come to life. I didn't want to over-do it.

So, onto the next person, Sternenglanz I hope you have a blast with this blog hop!! Happy hopping!
