Melting! MELTING!

Actually, it has been an amazing weekend, weather-wise. Until today. Enter: Tennessee humidity. ::sigh:: That's okay. I am so thankful for the time outside we did get. Cept for the mowing today...didn't enjoy that...

Saturday I decided that it was berry pickin time so Noah and I packed up and went to bottomview farms to pick strawberries. It was the perfect temperature outside for it! We got lots of strawberries, came home, and chopped them up and put them in chocolate. Cause, what other way is there to eat them?

Yesterday we spent the afternoon creeking. Its literally been years since I was barefoot in a creek. I usually stay on the shore, or wear my creeking shoes...but I forgot them and it was SO FUN!

This...this picture here...it captures everything I love about living where we do. The freedom to run and play and be. It completely sums it up!

Dude....my hubbs and I had a DATE night. Seriously, its been ages. I never get to go to the  theater so he and I went to see Godzilla. It...was....AWESOME!!!!
Today was more of an indoor day. Chores and such...loads and LOADS of laundry, cleaning the monkey's room...things like that...but we also found time for perler beads. Actually, we did some yesterday as well. We love perler beads in our house. It totally perpetuates our geeky mentalities. .

Geeky perler beads make me happy.

I hope that all of you had wonderful weekends with your families. Please remember the reason we had this extra day. It isn't just for barbecues and perler beads...it is to remember why we have these moments as a family...because others gave everything to ensure it was there for the taking. So, happy Memorial Day.

Scrappy Summer Days

So, I am so far behind in my scrapbooking that I am hanging my head in shame. I literally....am still working on last year's book for Noah. I am planning a new format for the next few years of Noah's life. One book a year is a bit much I think.

Ahh, the ice cream man. He is not a favorite of mine, but for sure there is nothing a kid loves to hear more than the sound of an ice cream man on a hot, summer day. Our ice cream man is quite shady....

That being said, I created this page using the paper pack, "from me to you" from pebbles. I LOVE this paper pad. I am sure it is not going to last long. The letters are Thickers and frame is a free die cut that I found and cut with my cricut. the paper bag flowers were made by the talented Lizzie.
This page I took more time doing. Not sure why. Just me and my lil man hangin out in the hammock. The paper used here is Maggie Holmes from Crate Paper. I used tattered angels ink spray and a mask to create the pattern over the words for the background paper. The hexagons, feathers and arrow die cuts are from pinterest...some more freebies that I found. The "Lazy Days" was a free printable from "U-printables" The letters for "Hangin" were from the dollar spot at Target.
I seriously can not believe my lil man is going in to second grade. I also can't believe I never got this page done before today. Yeesh. First day of first grade. "sigh". For this page I used the paper, "from me to you" from pebbles again.  Just for the record, I grew up with a rotary phone in my home until I was like 8? So...I can dig this paper. The letters are, again, Thickers and the "Hello" printable is another from Uprintables. Had a lot of fun with this page and tried not to over-work it.

So, happy first day of summer break to everyone in our Sumner County district, and to everyone else, hope you have many happy summer projects and can't wait to see them!

Teacher Appreciation Week: Day 5

Last day. In my opinion, I saved the best for last. Need I say S'more?

Yeah...it was lame...I know. Just say it. Seriously can't help myself. A week of puns!

Since Noah goes to a Christian school, I thought this label was appropriate with the verse from the book of Proverbs about teaching.

This bag wasn't as nice looking. The label is made for a clear baggie, but I used the other three of my paper bags.

In each bag is a Hershey's chocolate bar and in a plastic bag there are 2 marshmallows and 4 gram crackers for the teachers to make some microwave s'mores. YUM....Nothing says appreciation like a s'more.

All of the ingredients, save the marshmallows, came from the Dollar Tree. I happened to have a fresh bag of marshmallows on hand so that was a freebie...ish...

Thank you teachers for ALL that you do...the big and the small.

Teacher Appreciation Week: Day 4

Only two more days of Teacher Appreciation week.

Once again, I went to Pinterest for my inspiration. Not sure why I even tell people that anymore. I think its just a given at this point.

So, I found this SWEET printable for sharpies. It had to happen. I am guessing that all teachers need pens and sharpies. Correct me if I am wrong.

So, I printed and cut out the labels, then I used Washi tape and sharpies from...you guessed it....The Dollar Tree. I used the washi tape to hold the sharpie onto the label. Once again, easy, affordable and usable. That's my goal here.

Teacher Appreciation Week: Day 3

Good morning! Its day 3 of Teacher Appreciation Week. You ready to see what is in store today?

So on pinterest, this other mom used this COOL printable. I am a printable snob...and I love this one.

Once again, I found, at The Dollar Tree, I found a box of butter popcorn, 3 for a dollar...so 33 cents per teacher. COMPLETELY affordable for literally, anyone.

I printed, cut the labels out and adhered them to the individual bags of popcorn. I don't know about you, but I think this pops. *snicker* Sorry...it had to happen.

So, affordable, and it isn't going to sit around and gather dust. Did I mention CHEAP?

Teacher Appreciation Week: Day 2

Good morning! Its day 2 of Teacher Appreciation Week.

In my quest to find cheap, usable items to share with our three teachers I came across this gorgeous printable for a drink. What teacher doesn't want something yummy to drink every day? AND its not a trinket. Always important.
In an effort to save money (its been quite a month) I went to the Dollar Tree and they had these water enhancers for 1 dollar each. Totally affordable. I already had the bags (a bag of 6 for 1 dollar).

I printed the label, cut it and adhered it to the paper bag and put 1 of the water enhancers in each bag. Viola. Awesome, uplifting, affordable and usable Teacher Appreciation gift.

See you on day 3!

Teacher Appreciation Week: Day 1

This week is teacher appreciation week, so I will bring to you a simple, quick tip for sending appreciation to school with your munchkin.

My goal for each day this week is to do something simple, but useful. Nothing worse than giving a teacher "another" mug, or "another" apple. Wanted to do something they could use in one way or another each day.

Today I am going to show you a SUPER quick, SUPER cheap appreciation gift for Monday.

I found this adorable printable on pinterest and then attached one to a pair of scissors from the Dollar Tree for each of Noah's 3 teachers. The scissors are actually very good quality for being 1 dollar.

Hoping each teacher gets a kick out of the pun, and that they feel appreciated.
