To die would be an awfully big adventure

One of my all time favorite books, story, movie franchises......Peter Pan!!! J.M. Barrie is an amazing genius and his story is so interesting to me. Anyway, so today I finally Smash*ed again in my Black Mod Smash* book. A spread on Peter Pan. "Oh, the cleverness of me". Haha.
I used some of my new stache from JoAnn this weekend. I also used one of Rebecca's free printable typewriters. Bunches of other scraps too. Oh! And Amy Tan thickers.

Hope you enjoy this spread and hope it makes you smile. Maybe makes you remember growing up. Or, not growing up. Hehe.

Happy Days

Good evening to all! Today was the anticipated parent teacher conference. The last one before Noah is officially a first grader... Wow. Unbelievable  I can remember being pregnant and stressing about the school my son would attend; worrying about his well-being and worrying that there may not be a teacher who would understand his learning style. Not that I knew what his learning style was. He wasn't even born yet! But that's me. A worrier. I didn't always have the most positive experiences in school. My parents were there for me through it all and sacrificed a lot to make sure I got through school. I wanted to give my son what my parents gave me. And now, after one miserable failure of a year in preschool, and another wonderful one followed by this fantastic year in Kindergarten, I know my son has the foundations and the encouragement he needs to continue to excel. I am so thankful for that!!! So, here is to the last 2 months of Kindergarten, and new beginnings!

Also, I made a card for a challenge today! I know, right? Can't believe it myself! It is so nice to finally be back into a routine after the craziness of the holidays, and subsequent illnesses in the family. We have all been well now for a long time, we have our bedroom ready to paint and be done with, and we are moving on to spring! Happy days are here again!

This card is for the "All That Scraps" challenge. I have a few stamps from this shop, and I absolutely love C.C. Designs! They are so whimsical and sweet. The theme this week was, "Anything Goes", which, totally works for me. I pulled out some bright colors, pulled out my copics and got to work. Hope she makes you smile the way she makes me smile!

Have a great weekend for those of you who are working on Friday, and for the rest of us up here, Happy almost TGIF!!

Spring has sprung!

No, not officially, but I gave up on winter a long time ago.We haven't had ANY winter this winter. Whilst all of the north east and the midwest have gotten blizzard after blizzard, we were wearing capris and playing outside. ::shrug:: Leave it to TN!

So today, after lots of days out of the house, I caught up on some crafting. I did 2 card challenges, and a smash* page! Woohoo!

The first card I made was for Card Makin Mamas. I have to say, I really missed making cards!! The theme for their challenge was "spring colors". Very easy to be inspired around here for that! I used a Dustin Pike image and some pretty scraps that I had laying around. I used G Studios fun flok to add some life to the easter bunny.

The next card I made was for Dilly Beans. Oh, man, I love their images! Their theme was friendship. This card basically made itself. All scrap paper was used. This card was super fun to make!

And here is my next entry for my Smash* 365 book for March. I don't know why, but I seriously love St. Patricks day. Its one of the few days out of the year that you can wear fun stuff and not get looked at like you are strange. That's MY kinda day, haha. I found these fun glasses at the Dollar Tree and had to get em. AND I busted out my green eye glitter. Woots!

Hope this inspires you! Have a fantastic rest of the week!

Marvelous March

So happy to be back on track this March. I have started eating healthy, and I am happy to be back working out. Jillian Michaels is going to kick my butt back into shape. AND I am trying to walk too. My hip is still healing so I am taking it easier, but still happy to be sore for all of the right reasons. Hoping to be back in at least a size 6 before summer!!

Also back on track with Smash*ing. At least in my 365. I need to work on my international book now. About 5 countries behind! Phew! Here are my first 2 march pages for 2013!

Hope you enjoy these pages. March has been busy and its only just begun. So many more fun things to come! Have a beautiful week, everyone!

Card Makin Mama

It has been...I seriously can't remember how long....I don't remember the last time I made a card. Is that terrible? I AM the card makin mama! Mama Cass! How have I not made any cards? For SHAME!

So, I sought out the card makin mamas' blog and checked out their challenge. It was, "green". Good theme for the month, I suppose. I got out one of my fave images to color (from Some Odd Girl) and got out my markers and had fun making a card. Its kinda strange. It was hard to make a card. Like...it looks...small....like...why did it take me this long to make a card??? Like srsly...been working on it off and on for two hours? Sheesh. But, I am happy with the outcome. No frills, just right. Hope you like it too! (sorry about the cell phone pic...)

I used all scrap paper. Nothing new. I used Copic Markers and one Bic Marker. The pearls are I think from the paper studio, and as I said, the image is from Some Odd Girl.
Hope you have a great rest of the week!!! We had snow this morning for an hour or two. Its going to be 60 in Friday. ::shakes head:: Living in TN keeps you on your toes and makes it impossible to put your "out of season clothing" away. Cause...apparently we have all seasons in one week. ::sigh::

Catching up

Today is the first day of a week-long winter break for my lil guy. We took it easy today since I have several other things planned for him this week. Noah smash*ed in his book while I caught up with his 2012 book. I think I am officially burned out on 2012 pages. Srsly. I dunno. Just not as inspired as I usually am. Kinda just...blah. But, regardless, I think I am down to just maybe one page in this book if I can find my photos.

The first two are VERY SIMPLE. Talk about crafter's block...

This page is from EASTER last year. Yeah. Somehow I missed this page. I used vellum, which I hardly do anymore. I need to get back to my basics!! I am also branching out and trying not to worry so much about using more "feminine" colors. The fact is, colors are colors and we are all aware of how BOY my boy is. I have been hoarding these peep stickers for ages. They are chipboard and glittery. Basically, awesome!

This next one is just a page of my annual "Noah in front of the tree near his birthday" photos. They didn't turn out the best, but I love my handsome guy in his dress clothes, and I love my tree. Yes. I am strange. Haha.
This last one I actually did turn out almost exactly how I had envisioned it. We love our Christmas Morning Waffles with the cousins, and my BIL and SIL. Favorite Christmas tradition. I love making our own traditions and all of those warm, fuzzy feelings that come with them.

Thanks for coming by! See? I TOLD you I would try to be better about posting!

Monster Mash

So I have been very busy this last month, not that my blog shows it, so let me catch you up.

First, I build an igloo for my son's classroom (they are working on an arctic unit and learned about the Inuit Indians) entirely out of hot glue and masses (literally hundreds) of milk jugs. Its not perfect, but they kids LOVE it and it was the hit of the social studies fair for his classroom. Noah's teacher and I spent literally weeks making calls and gathering jugs from various starbucks and from other people. It was hard, but we finally managed to get enough.

Here is Noah (brown inuit costume)and his class in the igloo the day of the social studies fair.

Believe it or not, I DID Smash* last month too! I managed to finish the month of February (though, I may add a picture of the igloo to the pocket on the right page). February went by in a  blur, but I was very blessed, and I love my hubbs and my lil guy.

A close up of what was in the pocket so far.

Close up of the pocket page when the pocket is empty.
And a closer view of the left page since the pic of the double spread was blury-ish. :)

And finally, I come to today. March came in like...well, I am not really sure...we had snow, but it was too warm to stick. Would you consider that a lion? I don't know. Either way,  I made time to work on a project for Noah. So, my little guy turned 6 in December and has become obsessed with the idea of losing teeth. The only problem? He has never even had a LOOSE tooth. Poor kiddo. One of his sweet friends at school was so excited that she had a loose tooth and Noah got so upset. He was sad that he hadn't had one yet. ::sigh:: Dude, you are only 6. There is time! Promise!

I found this adorable monster tooth pillow on Pinterest....duh...where else? I just HAD to make one for Noah. He sleeps like a MONSTER...all over the bed, all hangin out on the end of the bed, or in the floor. His covers and pillow never stay on the bed for the entire night. This pillow is the perfect solution, as it can hang on his door.

I used some corduroy that I have had for awhile and have actually used to make a pillow cover with in the past. Then I found some adorable cotton fabric at walmart and went to work. I have never done applique before and was scared. Not sure why I was scared. It was so super easy! I might be addicted to applique!

(please excuse our really banged up door jams. That's on our to-do list for this spring.)

If you made it to the end of this horrendously long post, then THANK YOU for putting up with my long-winded, picture-heavy post. I promise to be better about posting. I really do! Hugs and have a great rest of the weekend!
