I might have a problem

I love aprons. Ordinarily, that wouldn't be a problem, but me? I am not a cook. I can bake okay, but its a stretch. Haha. But I freakin LOVE cute aprons! I haven't made one for myself since this one:
You know....like over a year ago and I made it by hand stitching every single stitch? Bahaha...yeah.

I have made aprons for friends, and family and even my SON...but not another one that's more classy for me to use in the kitchen. So, here it is! YAY! And the flower is actually a pin so that I can use it in my hair or on a shirt or whatever I want. Cause, that's how I roll. I can't commit. LOL
And, of course, my attention bug Noah HAD to get in on the action.

Hope you all are staying as cool as you can in this inhumane weather we are having across the country. I read somewhere that over half the country is in some form of drought. And the list of all time record breaking temperatures grows by the day! Hugs and safety to all!

Here is a link to the list of records broken. Kinda amazing, actually!

Sew Happy

I have been sewing like mad this weekend. For Noah. Do I ever sew for myself? One of these days I plan to actually make myself a skirt and an apron....one of these days.

But this weekend I made Noah his very own manly apron and a car organizer for the stuff he likes to have when we drive around town.

The apron has 3 button holes and was made a little long for when he gets one of his awesome growth spurts. He's due for one, so the new holes may be used sooner than we expected. I can't take all of the credit for this apron, as my husband had to do the button holes since our button hole attachment scares me and my lack of sewing skill. Oh, and Noah picked out the material himself. And yes, Frodo needs a hair cut. LOL
Originally, this organizer was going to go on the back of the passenger seat, but upon trying to use it, it became obvious that our lame caravan didn't have enough room for his feet and the organizer, so its now in the seat beside his booster, which, I think he will like better anyhow. He was very excited about this, so I am thinkin the next time I have to be out and about all day he won't be all bored and stuff. Yay, pinterest!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and were able to craft at least a little!

8 years. Plus 2.

So, yesterday I was blessed to celebrate my 8th wedding anniversary with my husband, Bobby. Its been an amazing ride. I was feeling sentimental yesterday and wanted to SMASH*. Dug out two very old photos of my husband and I back when we first got together back in 2002 and started dating. (those are the pictures on the right page.) The one on the top was taken a few hours before we became "official" or, whatever the kids call it these days. The one on the bottom was taken just a few short weeks after we were married. We went on a walk and DH dumped me in a water puddle in the rain. Fun times. Hehe. And, of course, the photo on the left is of our wedding day.

I feel like I might do some tweaking on both pages, but for now I am satisfied and I think the pages convey my feelings. These pages were smashed in the Purple pocketfolio smash*book from K and Company. LURVE!!!

So like, does ANYONE remember Jones Soda and Jones Juice? Yeah. Awesomesauce. Found about 100 labels from the "good ole days" and found one that went perfect with my theme. Hehe.

I hope you all enjoy! Happy almost weekend!

Sew Wonderful

So, I made these a week ago and have just managed the finishing touches. I also managed to break my super expensive camera recently...so back to the Cannon until we can get the Nikon fixed...but its a battery eater to be sure, so these pics aren't what I was hoping for.

ANYhow. I have a beautiful friend that came into my life about 6 months ago and she has lifted me and it has been so, so fun getting to know her, though, she and I are those friends that kinda must have known each other in a past life, or were just kindred spirits. I don't know, but I DO know that her birthday is a week after mine, and I wanted to make her something fun and useful. She is a fantastic baker/cook, and is always acquiring new recipes. She saw this apron a couple weeks ago and begged me to make her one too, so we picked out fabric and this is what I came up with.
Stylish and functional. That's how I roll. I recently saw a post on pinterest that had this wonderful apron with a towel holder on it so I  used that idea. She is very "green" and owns basically NO paper towels, so I think that she will definitely appreciate this aspect of the apron.

I also wanted to make her a fun bag. She loves purses and reusable bags. This was originally going to be a roll up shopping tote, but it kinda turned into a purse...due to lack of knowledge of sewing....and don't even mention the corduroy. NO clue why I always think these thick fabrics are going to work. ::shrug:: She loves orange and I have had this fabric for ages.
It DOES roll up, though. So....PART of the original function is there.

I also made her this cook-book. Due to her ever growing recipe collection.

Hope you enjoy this spot of color in your day! Hope to be back with something paper in a day or so. Splitting headache and lack of motivation. ::sigh:: Have a great Friday! (or...Saturday for my friends down under)
